Is there something wrong with the Gospel of Jesus Christ? Why, you ask? Because of the way so many handle the merchandise. They pick up the Gospel, take a look at it on Sunday, and then put it aside for the week. Some put it aside altogether.
So something must be wrong with the Gospel. Perhaps it reflects the "supply and demand" theory of economics. There is just too much Gospel around. As a result, people think that it is cheap.
It is true that the Gospel is free, but it certainly is never cheap. The price of the Gospel cannot be measured in dollars and cents, but rather in the precious blood of Jesus Christ shed for us sinners.
It also costs us. It costs us our pride, our self-righteousness, even our reputations when our sins are confessed, and it may even cost us our friends of this world as well.
There is nothing wrong with the Gospel, and it isn't cheap. The saving truth of Christ's Gospel is priceless. Invest in it now. It is available for a limited time only.
