Many more dollars were required for taxes, insurance premiums had doubled, an outstanding bill had arrived in the mail, not to mention a rush to the emergency room that same morning. Coming back home there was a threatening call from a collection agency. When troubles comes, they seem to come in bunches and in many different ways.
Before one problem is resolved, another one hits home, and we suffer an emotional overload. Our objectivity is scrambled and our ability to solve problems logically is lost. Discussing the dilemma with family can cause emotions to erupt, making matters even worse.
So where do we turn? Turning to the world only increases our anxiety level. But by turning to our almighty, all-caring God, the same God who sent His Son, Jesus, to save us from our sins, on Him we can cast our cares and relieve ourselves of untold stress.
Because we are burdened daily, we need to daily turn to Jesus. He cares for us. He alone has the power to set us on a Rock above the turbulent waters of life.
